Die Spinnen - die Deutschen! Germans - going crazy?
by schubi on 07.03.2007, 13:57
Heise ( hat heute den folgenden Artikel veroeffentlicht:

The German IT news website ( published the following article today:

and furthermore

(Zitat Ende / end of quote)
The article reads:
"Bundestag (Parliament) addresses DNS - The German government is to support the introduction of new TLDs to the Internet's DNS - especially TLDs for regional and urban communities."
"Zones like .bayern (Bavaria), .nrw (North-Rhine West-Palatine) or .berlin (capital) would allow the federal states and municipal communities to >>present themselves and their characteristics economically and culturally stronger than currently<< the parliamentary request read."

OOOOOOOOKAAAAAAY. So _Germany_ wants !!TOP!!-LDs for its laender, counties and towns/villages. ???? HELLO? What good is the DNS/TLD system if we'll end up with hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of TLDs that allow some group or community to "stronger express themselves economically and culturally"?

As much as I understand that the all-federal-things-loving Germans nowadays would like to see their meagerly important (in a global context) Bundeslaender and towns to gain the same status as sovereign countries when it comes to TLDs - this is the most arrogant and blunt display of German post-war ignorance so far.

OOOOOOKAY. Deutschland will also !!TOP!!-LDs fuer seine Bundeslaender, Regionen und Gemeinden. HALLLOOOOO???
